So after running around on the island, you eventually find that Kagura and Utsugi are up to something evil. Naturally. :) But when you go after them... teh gaspness! They're GONE!!1 But it doesn't take that long to figure out what to do. Say "Open Sesame!" and a Cave of Wonders opens up. And despite all of the "Whoa, what a creepy, weird place this is!" of course you all go inside and face your next battle. Wandering through the cave, you have a few youkai battles, and then... KOHAKU! You again? Ngahh! You beat the crap out of Shinki, one of the youkai responsible for him (hey, I thought it was supposed to be Naraku controlling him!). Once you start trading blows with him, Kohaku starts to really need some Advil or something. He passes out, free of the mind control (for now), and Kirara takes him back to Kaede's village as the rest of your team moves on. And then you find that you've walked straight into a trap! XD Woohoo! Remember Little Pissy Youkai who you'd annoyed just before by calling him little? Well, his name is Enki ("Fire Goblin") he's back, he's still got a grudge, and apparently he's, like, going to hold you captive. AhahAHh! (Okay, I know there's a better explaination for why he wants you but it's been a while since I played, so I'll just give the basics.) But no sooner do you do battle with him when Kagura, being the "I ain't doing nuthin' for no one and I'll be damned if you understand my motives!" person she is, comes out and, like, fujin no mai's him into oblivon. Mwahahaa! And of course that leaves you totally confuseed. So yes, one of the things that I really liked was that Kagura stays true to character. She's not all about doing Naraku's bidding and wants her freedom from him in this game just as she had in the series. When she offers to help you, you have a choice to believe her or not. I chose to trust her... I wonder if choosing to not believe her affects the outcome of the next part... *cue plot-thickening music* |
