[Village scene. There are several villagers standing about. They're beating bushes, looking quite determined and upset as they're searching around the fields for Shippou.]

VILLAGER 1
Where have you hidden yourself, you mischievous youkai!

VILLAGER 2
We'll kill the damn thing!

[Kagome and Inuyasha are also looking for Shippou. Kagome looks worried.]

KAGOME
All of the villagers are really upset.

INUYASHA
Heh.

[Kagome sees Shippou, in his balloon form, flying above.]

KAGOME
Ah!

[One of the villagers draws his bow, aiming at Shippou. Some of the villagers start throwing rocks at him.]

[FX: villgers' bows - *strain strain*]

VILLAGER
There it is!

[Kagome desparately screams at the villagers.]

KAGOME
Stop!

INUYASHA
Don't panic, Kagome.

[Kagome turns to Inuyasha, little drops of worried tears forming in her eyes.]

KAGOME
But it's…

INUYASHA
That's a fake.

[ Shippou is shot with two arrows.]

[FX: arrows - *wham wham*]

[Shippou's body begins to deflate.]

[FX: Shippou - *frazzle frazzle*]

[Shippou's body bursts, releasing Shippou-eyed...screaming acorns The villagers, Inuyasha, and Kagome are suddenly showered with screaming acorns. Inuyasha leaps out of the way, Kagome in his arms.]

[FX: Shippou - *POP!* Acrons - *clatter*]

VILLAGER
Deeehh!

[Inuyasha manages to get Kagome to saftey.}

INUYASHA
Damn, I don't think he wants to be caught so simply.

KAGOME
At any rate, the villagers can't find him sooner that us…

[Suddenly, Shippou walks past them, in the form of... a CHICKEN! - On a side note, this was probably THE funniest drawings I think I have EVER seen in Inuyasha to date... heh-heh-heh.]

INUYASHA
…….

[Unamused, Inuyasha makes a fist.]

[FX: Inuyasha - *knuckles crack]

[Inuyasha rushes at the Shippou-chicken, who dodges his punch. Inuyasha hits the ground... hard.]

INUYASHA
HEY!

[FX: ground - *WHAM!*]

[ Shipou evades his punch and pops back into his kitsune form.]

[FX: Shippou - *pop!*]

SHIPPOU
Heh-heh-heh…

[Shippou, looking rather evil with some wicked eyes, looks down at Inuyasha. There's a glowing dark light on his back.]

[FX: energy - *hum-m-m*]

SHIPPOU
So you found me out me pretty well, eh?

[Inuyasha stares up at him, pretty darn upset. Kagome looks more desparate to reason with Shippou.]

INUYASHA
Whatever! You better get down here now!

KAGOME
We'll get the parasite on your back.

[From this angle, you can see a parasite, which is almost as big as Shippou (!), attached to his back.]

SHIPPOU
Hmph.

[Shippou takes out a taketonbo - a flying bamboo propellor toy.]

[Inuyasha looks less than amused.]

INUYASHA
Hah. Whaddya think you're doing with that thing...

[Shippou releases the taketonbo, and it lands on Inuyasha's head. Now, if I hadn't seen the chicken picture, THIS would have been the single most funny panel of the chapter...!]

[FX - Taketonbo: *plunk*]

[And the taketonbo whirls Inuyasha into the sky, much like a hellicopter propellor. Okay, I take that back. THIS would have been the single most funy panel of the chapter...!]

[FX: Taketonbo - *whirl whirl whirl* Inuyasha - *swoosh*]

KAGOME
(alarmed) Inuyasha!

[Behind Kagome, Shippou disappears in a puff of smoke.]

[FX: Shippou - *Whoosh-POP!]

KAGOME
Shippou-chan.

[Kagome runs after Inuyasha.]

[FX: Kagome - *running*]

KAGOME
I have to do something.

[Cloudy frame - Scene change.]

[Meanwhile... Sango and Miroku are still wrapped up in in teh tree, covered in the stretchy goop that Shippou had left them in. They still look pretty... unamused.]

MIROKU
This is really awful.

SANGO
That Shippou. He's more difficult than I thought.

[Suddenly, Inuyasha comes swooshing down from the sky, and makes his grand entrance by landing in the stretchy goop. The look on his face shows that he is pretty annoyed/pissed off.]

[FX: Taketonbo - *whirl whirl whirl* Inuyasha - *STRETCHY GOOP*]

[Miroku looks up at Inuyasha, kinda confused.]

MIROKU
Inuyasha, what are you doing.?

[Inuyasha's ears arre flattened to his head. Hehe, that's a pretty rare "upset dog" look coming from him...]

INUYASHA
Why you... DON'T SAY ANYTHING!

[Kagome joins the three of them. Inuyasha, Sango, and Miroku are still covered in the goopy stuff, and they're actually attached together by the strings. XD )

[FX: goop - *stre-e-e-etch*]

MIROKU
Kagome-sama…

KAGOME
Everyone.
Shippou-chan has run off again.

[Miroku looks a bit thoughtful now.]

MIROKU
That was indeed a problem.
But we must not do anything violent.

[Inuyasha, on the other hand, looks annoyed.]

INUYASHA
Heh!
What the fuck should I hold back for.

[And now Inuyasha looks downright furious.]

INUYASHA
I'll whack him fif… SIXTY times to make him wake up!

KAGOME
No, you are not going to whack him fifty or sixy times.

SANGO
Don't say such a dangerous thing.

[Sango then produces a plateful of round rice-cakes, called dango.] (notes)

[FX: plate - *plunk*]

[The others are watching her.]

MIROKU
Sango, are those rice cakes?

SANGO
They're sleeping drugs.

INUYASHA
Isn't that more dangerous than me?

[Shippou, still in his ballon form, appears in a puff of smoke. As the others look on, he takes the plate and eats the dango. Yum! )

[FX: Shippou - *KA-POOF!* dango - *swipe*]

[Shippou munches on the dango.]

[FX: Taketonbo - *crunch crunch crunch*]

[Suddenly, he's (literally) shocked as the drugs start to take effect! He starts... convulsing.]

[FX: Shippou - energy *crackle cracklke*]

[Inuyasha starts running after Shippou

KAGOME
The drugs are working!

INUYASHA
I'll catch the little creep!

[ Shippou is still looking very much like something nasty is about to happen.]

[FX: Shippou - *deep inhale*]

[And he spits out fuzzy-looking chestnuts all over Inuyasha! Inuyasha takes on the full brunt and gets nailed right in the face.
MWAHAHA!!]

[FX: Chestnuts - *WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM!*]

[Sango uses the hiraikotu for protection.]

SANGO
Chestnuts!?

[FX: Chestnuts - *clatter clatter clatter!*]

CHESTNUTS
Waah! Waah! Waah! Waah!

[Inuyasha, covered in fuzzy chestnuts, and looking a bit haggard and beat-up from this, is holding his hand to his head, as if he's about to consider something. Something... not nice. Heh-heh-heh...]

INUYASHA
Heh...

CHESTNUTS
Waah! Waah! Waah!

[Inuyasha rushes up towards Shippou, hand on the hilt of Tessaiga. He looks FURIOUS. If it weren't for the fact her was still covered in fuzzy chestnuts, he'd look quite menacing.]

INUYASHA
I'm gonna KILL him!

[Inuyasha leaps into the air and sheathes Tessaiga, which grows into its full form. Shippou stares back at him, shocked.]

[FX: Tessaga - *slash*]

[Shippou transforms back into his kitsune form. The parasite is still attached to his back.]

[FX: Shippou - *POP*]

SHIPPOU
How dare you!
You'd slay one of your companions?

[Close up of Inuyasha, who is obviously furious.]

INUYASHA
SHUT UP!
If you think I'm going to go easy on you 'cause you're a KID, that's a BIG MISTAKE!

[Inuyasha slices through the air with Tessaga, and magages to slash the parasite off of Shippou's back.]

[FX: Tessaiga - *SLASH!*]

[Kagome and Sango watch.]

KAGOME
Ah…

SANGO
Good, it's letting go!

[Shippou faints and collapses on the ground.]

[FX: Shippou - *sigh*]

[The others run to help Shippou, who is fainted on the ground.]

SANGO
Shippou.

KAGOME
Shippou-chan.

[Kagome picks up Shippou, who is still knocked out, in her arms.]

KAGOME
Thank goodness…
He's not hurt.

[Inuyasha comes over and, looking pretty annoyed, thwaks Shippou on the head, effectively waking him up.]

[FX: Inuyasha - *CLUNK!!*]

[Shippou, annoyed, hits Inuyasha back. Inuyasha looks unimpressed.]

SHIPPOU
What was that for!?

[FX: Shippou - *Smack!*]

[Kagome storms up to Inuyasha, not very happy with the reaction. She shouts at him.]

KAGOME
Shippou-chan was being possessed by the parasite.

[Shippou points an accusing finger at Inuyasha.]

SHIPPOU
That's right! That's right!

INUYASHA
"That's right, that's right," you say...

[Inuyasha grabs Shippou's head in his hand]

INUYASHA
I'll make this easy.
Shippou, don't you remember while you were possessed?

[FX: Shippou - head *krick krick krick*]

SHIPPOU
*GULP*

INUYASHA
Really, I'm wondering why you were coming at me with the stupid hard spells.

[And now that makes Shippou mad.]

SHIPPOU
Shut up.
You were coming after me every time.

[Inuyasha clunks him on the head again.]

INUYASHA
You really don't remember, huh?

[FX: Inuyasha - *CLUNK*]

MIROKU
Yes, that's enough.

SANGO
We need to go after the parasite.

[A view of one of the parasites, which is rushing through the forest. It's leaving a slight glowing trail behind it.]

[Inu-tachi are in hot pursuit; Miroku and Sango on Kirara, and Kagome and Shippou riding on Inuyasha's back.]

[FX: Group - *SWOOSH*]

Is it searching for a new host?!

SANGO
If we leave it at large, that's what will happen.

[Another view of what looks like hundreds of the insect-like parasites. I can't quite tell if they're supposed to be dead or if they're moving or not, and the sound is from the corpses rustling...]

[FX: parasites - *rustle rustle*]

[Inu-tachi arrive at the edge of the parasite gathering, and they look very horrified at what they see.]

[Inuyasha, Kagome, Shippou, and Sango are considering the situation. Kagome is worried.]

KAGOME
What's going on, Sango-chan?

SANGO
The parasites are naturally supposed to feed off of a larger youkai,

SANGO
It's just that… the hosts these things feed off of will die, won't they…?

[FX: parasites - *rustle rustle*]

[Miroku starts to unseal his hand with the Kazaana.]

MIROKU
Anyhow, I'll clean this up.

SANGO
Um-hmm.

[Two of the parasites are flying through the sky.]

[FX: parasites - *swoosh*]

[The parasites are neatly shot through with an arrow...]

[A vies of Kikyou, who is standing on the edge of a precipice. She watches as the remains of the parasites fall to the ground, down into the crevice below...]

I happened to find this place so readily.

[Inu-tachi are all sitting around a campfire. Kagome is making everyone what appears to be her specialty. Instant cup-ramen.... heh-heh-heh.]

MIROKU
What's wrong, Sango?
The parasites have been exterminated.

KAGOME
Is there still something you're worried about?

SANGO
Yeah…
Looking at the amount of parasites….

[Sango looks concerned]
I think the host was a pretty large youkai.
Though, it would be natural to think that the parasite's host had died….

MIROKU
Except there were no dai-youkai corpses.

And also no scent.

[Kagome looks over at them

KAGOME
If the parasite's host isn't dead…?

[Sango has a hand to her mouth, thinking very hard.]

SANGO
Maybe it couldn't stay there…

[And now Miroku chimes in.]

MIROKU
Sango, do you think…
Perhaps that's a connection with Naraku?

SANGO
I don't know, but… It's not normal.

[Inuyasha has a serious look on his face...]

INUYASHA
(thinking) That's true. There's something strange about this.
