[The (yet unnamed) mountain youkai is staring down at Inuaysha. Although it's hard to really call it "anger" from his expression, since he has no eyelids... he looks upset. Inuyasha has unsheathed Tessaiga, and he's holding it in front of him, ready to attack.]

MOUNTAIN YOUKAI
Tell me Naraku's whereabouts... Otherwise my anger will not subside.

[Inuyasha shouts back up at the youkai defiantly.]

INUYASHA
I told you we don't know! We're looking for Naraku, too!

[Miroku takes the opportunity to step in. Kagome and Sango stand behind him.]

MIROKU
You said before that Naraku had stolen the protecting stone, Mamori Ishi.
What is the protecting stone?

[The youkai seems to be a little more reasonable now. Or at least, willing to talk....]

[FX: Youkai - *rustle*]

MOUNTAIN YOUKAI
the stone was essential for I, Gakusanjin, to remain as a mountain...

GAKUSANJIN
The stone is for the mountain to continue to sleep.

[Kagura is evesdropping on the conversation.]

KAGURA
A barrier against youki?

[Miroku shouts up at Gakusanjin. At this point, I don't think he's screaming because he's upset or out or desparation, it's just that he needs to raise his voice to even be heard by the giant at all... heh.]

MIROKU
Gakusanjin-sama.
Is the stone a barrier that serves to keep you calm?

GAKUSANJIN
My youki is hidden… when an enemy cams near,
And with the protecting stone, a pointless dispute will not happen…

INUYASHA
Hey, this youki barrier thing you're talking about… what does it look like? Or color? Does it have a smell?

If I tell you…. What will you do?

[Inuyasha yells back.]

INUYASHA
I'm saying we'll bring it back to you.

GAKUSANJIN
Humph.
Every one of those words… I cannot trust.

GAKUSANJIN
Boy… You said you did not know Naraku's whereabouts.

[Inuyasha has a sudden intuition of danger as he hears the next words.]

GAKUSANJIN (OFF)
If that is so, you are in my way!

[Gakusanjin swings a huge fist into the ground, attempting to flatten Inuaysha.

[FX: rocks - *clatter clatter* Fist - *WHA-A-A-A-A-AM!!!*

GAKUSANJIN
BEGONE!

[Inuyasha leaps out of the way in time.]

INUYASHA
Hah!

[Inuyasha is now pretty angry himself. He swings Tessaiga, unleashing the Kaze no Kizu on Gakusanjin...]

INUYASHA
Argh! So sorry to wake you up, old man!
KAZE NO KIZU!!

[FX: Kaze no Kizu - *WHO-O-O-O-O-OSH!!]

[The force of Kaze no Kizu slams into rock, trees, and everythign in its path, and heads towards Gakusanjin.]

[FX: Kaze no Kizu - *WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM!*

[Kagome and Miroku watch, alarmed.]

KAGOME
Ah…

MIROKU
Inuyasha…

[Inuyasha is looking over to where Gakusanjin is still standing, looking maybe a little injured. But he's still standing.]

[FX: wind - *swoosh* Gakusanjin - *rumble*]

[Kagome, Sango, and Miroku all stand and watch. Inuyasha turns back to them and sheathes Tessaiga.]

KAGOME
......

INUYASHA
Let's go.
We're done here, he won't listen to what we say.

[FX: Tessaiga - *swish*]

[It's clear from his reaction that Inuyasha had no intention of killing Gakusanjin, just defending himself and his friends against the attack.]

[Gakusanjin is still standing, watching them get ready to leave.]

[FX: Wind - *whoosh*]

GAKUSANJIN
........

3 (OVERLAY)
[Kagura has just witnessed the entire encounter, and she's looking a bit determined to figure out what's going on.]

KAGURA (thinking)
Wha… Gakusanjin is uninjured…

[Side view of Kagura]

KAGURA
(thinking) The front of that mountain just exploded, didn't it?
That bastard Inuyasha, what does he…

[As Inuyasha is walking away, Gakusanjin once again speaks to him.]

GAKUSANJIN (OFF)
Boy, you...

[Close up of Gakusanjin speaking]

GAKUSANJIN
Why won't you kill me?
I expected that you slay me.

[Inuyasha turns back, hand on Tessaiga's hilt.]

INUYASHA
Wha?? Did you WANT me to kill you?!

[Kagome puts a hand on his arm to restrain him. She's go a "eh-heh... now, now, dear..." smiley expression on her face.]

KAGOME
Inuyasha.

[And now Miroku once again gets involved.]

MIROKU
We also said we don't know the meaning of this dispute. Naraku alone is the enemy. That's so, Gakusanjin-sama.

[A view of Miroku, calling up to Gakusanjin. He looks pretty determined to get through to the youkai.]

MIROKU
We'll go after Naraku to find the youki-barrier, and return it to you.
Is that acceptable?

[And Gakusanjin appears to be considering.]

GAKU

[Gakusanjin again raises a fist.]

[FX: Wind - *swoosh*]

INUYASHA

[Inuyasha again gets ready to attack.]

INUYASHA
Bastard! Are you still…

[Apparantly... no. Gakusanjin is NOT attacking again. Instead, he begins shaking something out of his fist. What appears to be glowing crystals.]

[FX: crystals - *clatter clatter*]

GAKUSANJIN
Take these and go…

[Inuyasha looks a little confused now...]

INUYASHA
Eh?

GAKUSANJIN (OFF)
One handful is good.

[Miroku kneels down to take a handful of the crystals]

MIROKU
These are…?

GAKUSANJIN (OFF)
They are crystals from my youki.

MIROKU
Youki crystals…?

[He looks at the crystal, which is glowing in his hand...]

I can certainly… feel strong youki.

GAKUSANJIN (VOICEOVER)
When close to the youki barrier...

[Inuyasha is listening intently.]

GAKUSANJIN (OFF)
The youki from the crystals will disappear.
And if it is taken from the barrier, the youki will re-appear.

[View of Miroku and Sango.]

SANGO
It looks like he somehow trusted us, doesn't it.

MIROKU
It does. This will aid us in finding Naraku.

[He takes the crystals in his hand.]

[Kagome looks back over at Gakusanjin in the distance.]

KAGOME
Um… Thank you.

[Gakusanjin looks a little emotionless, but his reaction makes it seem like he's a bit surprised to be thanked.

GAKUSANJIN

That's enough. Now go.

But even so, why would that bastard Naraku bother to steal the youki barrier?

[Dark frame. Inuyasha has had a sudden strong realization...]

INUYASHA
(thinking) Even now, it's been difficult for us to find Naraku.
So even now, there's still an important reason for him to hide the youki!?

[Kagura is flying away on her giant feather. She looks serious.]

You will go and help Kanna...

KOHAKU (thinking)
Kanna is supposed to be with that baby. I've finally found where it is.

If I find the baby, I can kill Naraku, as well.

[One of the saimyoushou swoop down in front of Kohaku and stop him.]

[FX: Saimyoushou - *buzz*]

[Kohaku looks up into the sky.]

[Kouchou and Asuka are flying through the sky. Kohaku sees them.]

[Kohaku lokos a little shocked and worried, knowing what the orders from the saimyoushou are...]

KOHAKU (thinking)
Finish them off, too…?

[A closer view of the two girls as the're flying through the sky. One of the girls is holding Kikyou's hair-braid in her hands...]

[FX: shikigami - *swoosh*]

[A closer view of the braid shows that it's unravelling.]

[FX: braid - *(I was not aware hair-braids made sounds.... o.O)* *swish*]

[The girls look back at the trailing hairs]

KOUCHOU
Kikyou-sama's hair-braid is coming untied.

ASUKA
Something is nearby…

[And suddenly the girls are surrounded by saimyoushou...!]

[Kohaku's chained sickle weapon slices throught the air at them]

[FX: sickle - *SWOOSH*]

[The sickle slices through the two girls.]

[FX: sickle - *SLICE!*]

[Kohaku is staring up at them, looking a little strained about what he just did.]

[FX: chain - *clatter*]

[The two girls have returned back to their paperdoll form...]

[FX: shikigami - *flutter rustle*]

KOHAKU
!?

[Suddenly, a streak of light and energy, slam into the ground in front of him.]

[FX: arrow - *SWOOSH-WHAM!*

KOHAKU
Ah!

[The two paper shikigami swoosh down through the sky...]

[FX: shikigami - *swoop*]

[...and they land in someone's hand.]

[Kohaku looks up. There's an arrow stickign up out of the ground in front of him. He looks VERY strained now. Standing in front of him is Kikyou, who is holding the shikigami in her fist.]

[FX: Kikyou - *rustle*]

[Kikyou looks over at him, serious.]

KIKYOU
You're from Naraku…

[Close up of Kohaku. A bead of sweat is on his face.]

KOHAKU
