INUYASHA

Yeah... are you alright?

(thinking)

But the relief of the reunion is a little short-lived, as Kagome notices something...

In the sky, something shines brightly... and dark shouki seems to have appeared.

KAGOME (thinking)

A tendril of spider's webs shoots out of the sky.

KAGOME
Naraku's spider webs!?

Inuyasha, quickly!

The group at the bottom of the stairway -- Miroku, Sango, Kirara, Kikyou, and Kouga -- look up to see the danger approaching.
Kikyou is still lying on the ground, looking weak and unable to move, as Sango kneels beside her.

MIROKU
Something... is coming?

Kikyou's voice.

KIKYOU
Kou... ga....
Run away...

Sango looks down at Kikyou, uncertain, as Kouga also looks over his shoulder at her...

SANGO
Kikyou...

Kouga, though, doesn't seem in a particular rush to heed Kikyou's warning.

KOUGA
Heh, that's who's coming, then? I can smell Naraku!
The bastard, he's close...

Kikyou's eyes are open. She looks quite strained.

KIKYOU
Don't you understand...?

He's... already here...
None of you... can see the threads, can you?

The spider's threads then snap taut...

...pulling Kikyou into the air. From Miroku and Kouga's point of veiw, it looks as if there is nothing pulling her upwards, however.

MIROKU

Miroku quickly runs to pull Kikyou back down.

MIROKU
Kikyou-sama!

And as he does, he sees the spider webs entangling her.

MIROKU
A spider web!?

As he looks upwards, he sees the spider's threads lead upwards, towards the vortex of the shouki in the air...

MIROKU
Naraku's at the end of this...!?

And Miroku starts to pull the juzu from his arm, preparing to use the Kazaana.

MIROKU
Gah...

Sango sees this and shouts towards him.

SANGO
Houshi-sama!

SHIPPOU
Are you going to use the Kazaana!?

Sango, of course, reacts quite strongly to this...

SANGO
Stop it!

As Kagome and Inuyasha reach the bottom of the stairway, however, all that remains is a huge crater...

And it doesn't take long to figure out what happened. Both of them look very worried.

KAGOME

Miroku and Sango fall to the ground below, but Kikyou still remians entriwned in the spider's threads, and is pulled away from them.

MIROKU
Kikyou-sama!

Kouga lands, on a rocky ledge.

KOUGA
Gah!

Kirara, at the last moment, swoops down and catches Miroku and Sango.

And a wide, panoramic view, showing the entire scene. Kouga, Miroku, and Sango are now looking up at Naraku, who has Kikyou in his arms. He also now has incorporated the kongouseki (diamond?) armored shell onto his right shoulder...

KOUGA

Naraku, of course, looks towards Miroku, knowingly. The smug look on his face is clear.

NARAKU
Are you going to open the Kazaana,
And draw in Kikyou along with me?

And hearing this, Miroku hesitates. Looking quite angry, of course.

MIROKU
Gah...

Kouga, on the other hand, shouts towards Miroku...

KOUGA
Stay back, houshi!
You open up that Kazaana, and you'll wind up vomiting up blood all over again!

The Goraishi appear on Kouga's hand as he turns his attention to Naraku.

KOUGA
Naraku!
You rat-bastard, today's the day I'll fucking destroy you!

And Naraku looks on, darkly. Obviously not intimidated.

NARAKU
Heh-heh-heh... even with those legs of yours, that you don't know when you'll lose the use of...?

Kouga rushes forward, shouting.

KOUGA
SHUT UP!

He rushes towards Naraku, the Goraishi at the ready. Naraku's diamond-spear arm shoots out and slams into the rocks below Kouga...

KIKYOU (thinking)
Why...
Didn't Naraku attack back then...?

Kikyou's thoughts, over a view of Inuyasha and Kagome, as they run to find their friends...

KIKYOU (voiceover - in thought)
From Mount Azusa... Inuyasha and Kagome separated from us...

KAGOME
Over there! I can feel a Shikon fragment!

Suddenly, Kikyou's eyes open, as she realizes something...

KIKYOU (thinking)
Becuase Kagome got the bow!?
So it can cut through Naraku's malicious spider webs!

Hang on, everyone! We're on our way!

[NOTE: For the record, I'm actually not sure if this is Inuyasha or Kagome's line. It "feels" more Inuyasha-ish, and I translated it with a nuance to reflect that. But it could be either one.]
