Meanwhile, Kouga continues to struggle against more tendrils, as he gets pulled further into Naraku's kongousouha arm.

KOUGA

With the goraishi, kouga takes a swipe at the kongousouha arm surrounding him. It strikes with crackling energy.

KOUGA
So fucking get ready!

Naraku doesn't look all that impressed, however...

The tendrils around Kouga's legs begin to deteriorate, hiss, and release shouki.

Kagome looks up towards the fight.

And she notices what's happening inside.

KAGOME
The parts that have touched Kouga-kun are being purified.

Heh-heh-heh, houshi...
What use will that kazaana of your be now?

[NOTE: "ima sara kisama no kazaana ga nan no yaku ni tatsu?" carries the nuance of "what use will it be this late in the game?"]

Before you suck me up, you'll be poisoned by my shouki, and merely vomit up blood...

From this point of view, Sango appears to be holding onto Miroku, as he'd asked, as Miroku continues to use the kazaana. Ribbons of shouki start leaking out of the closed kongousouha arm, and are drawn in towards the open kazaana.

Naraku looks up at the two of them.

NARAKU
You fool...
You're just drawing in shouki...

Inside of the arm, Kouga, who sems to be nearly overwhelmed by the heavy shouki, notices what's going on...

KOUGA

His eyes widen in surprise.

KOUGA (thinking)
The shouki is being sucked away...

Mustering up some energy, he again draws the Goraishi and readies himself for a strike...

KOUGA
Gahh!

He slams the fingers of the Goraishi into the walls of the arm with a loud whack.

KOUGA
Goraishi!

Naraku watches, perhaps looking a bit surprised, as the arm begins to crack open and crackle with the lightning energy of the Goraishi.

Miroku, still looking strained, and still drawing up the shouki, watches on. Sango, behind him, looks very worried, however...

MIROKU
Very good!

SANGO
Houshi-sama, don't push yourself any harder!

A voice shouts at them.

INUYASHA (off)
Miroku, that's enough!!

And Inuyasha, rushing in on the scene with his sword drawn, slams Tessaiga into Naraku's arm, with a loud, forceful crack.

MIROKU
Inuyasha...

And he looks at his hand. With this part over for now, the toll it has taken on him is clear from the haggard, strained look on his face.

MIROKU
Ugh...
(thinking)
The wound... widened...

Behind him, Sango looks at him, concerned.

SANGO
Houshi-sama!?

MIROKU
I'm.... I'm alright, Sango...

Below, Inuyasha has climbed up onto the arm, and through the crack, sees Kouga...

INUYASHA
You're still alive, are ya, Wimpy Wolf.

KOUGA
Heh, you think I'd kick it that easily?

Inuyasha looks down at him, perhaps a little irritated that Kouga hasn't moved yet.

INUYASHA
Well, then, hurry up and get the fuck outta there.

But Kouga looks away, his face looking... pained, and defeated...

KOUGA
... just shut up...

And as he looks down into the crack, he sees that Kouga is covered with a tendon-like substance.

INUYASHA

His legs... are being absorbed into Naraku!?
