THE FINISHING TOUCHES

By this point, I was trying to decide what kind of background I wanted. Again, using the manga as a little bit of a reference... I found that there basically WAS no background. XD So I ended up just doing what I call the "airbrushed dusty background."

Very easy, and in the end, I actually thought it was a little more to what I really wanted than an actual background.

Basically I decided on the blue/grey background (which complimented Tessaiga) and started brushing in the colors using various paintbrush techniques.

USING THE SHARD

So the chapter was called "Using the Shard," right? Couldn't forget that there was a shard in the Tessaiga at that point. So again, using eyedropper tool to select colors from a screencap of the Shikon jewel, I airbrushed a glowing pink shard on Tessaiga's blade.

FINAL LIGHTING...

Most of the effects at this point are lighting and "magic" effects. Using the airbrush, I added a little bit of a glow aroudn the blade of the Tessaiga, as well as streaks of "youki" energy starting to come off of it.

I also added a little bit of bright blue light (the same color as Tessaiga's blade) to Inuyasha, so that he had a little bit of a light reflected on him.

And that was basically it!
