EAR-TWEAK
SPEAK & RANDOM YASHANESS
July/August, 2005
Paradise
yet again revisited!
August

I must
send out my thank yous to several wonderful Deviant Artists who have
been so kind and sweet to dedicate some of their beautiful artwork to
me over the past month! And to those of you who are also kind enough
to send me your original works via email, thank you so much! I really
do appreciate seeing what you've drawn up. :)
I promise
I'll try to write back to people soon, but right now I'm again VERY
much behind on emails from ear-tweak. Last I checked I was replying
to mails from back in... June. Argh. Sorry about that everyone!
First
thank you (again) goes to Tarkheki,
who I talked about on my Deviant page. We've been chatting for, several
months on DA, and she was kind enough to send me a print of her artwork,
and I could choose which piece! And being as I've loved her art from
the moment I came across her page... hehe... I picked the one I remember
seeing first of all. The EAR-TWEAK! :D
And next
is MoreSunScreen,
with this awesome -- and I mean AWESOME! -- Inu-papa
drawing. With little Secchan to boot! Heehe. Definitely made
my morning seeing the Papa like that!
And finally,
here's one that absolutely left me in a pile of melty Kuro on the ground
when I saw it. ALM82's
absolutely gorgeous
rendition of what is definitely my favorite scene from the series.
Inuyasha's eyes in this image just floored me. He's absolutely beautiful!!
And he's STRIPED!! Teehee. AND they're kissing! That's just squishy
bonuses all over!
So huge
thanks to these wonderful artists this month! Thank you so much, everyone!
I really appreciate hearing from you and seeing all of the spirit and
enthusiasm you have for the Inuyasha series... and for this website
as well. Thanks, everyone. It truly does mean a lot!! :D
So, in
recent Inuyasha news...
Today
the DVD for Guren no Houraijima came out here in Japan, and I
was off to get it as soon as time allowed for the day. I'll write up
a more formal type of review for the Guren
no Houraijima goodies
page, but for now... there's just a few things I had to mention about
the DVD!!

So here's
some of the extras that were with the Special Edition version of Guren
no Houraijima!
First
was the bonus epilogue,
which... well, I wasn't expecting much, so it was rather "meh."
Something that didn't hit me as anything I'd soley want the DVD for.
^_^; But at least we get to see what was going to become of the six
hanyou children - they part ways with the Inu-ikkou and presumably are
going to try to make it on their own in the outside world. And there
was no "osuwari." Rawr!!
Next there
were a few interesting little anime clip collections featuring "popular
and favorite phrases" and "memorable scenes" for the
major characters (Inu-ikkou and Sesshou-gumi), as well as the usual
bonus production still art from the movie, and the television CM spots
that aired throughout the year.
But one
of the things I think I enjoyed the most was the "Inuyasha Hybrid
Movie." If anything, this just made me really, really long for
the anime to return someday. I hope it will. It was basically a montage
of panels from key scenes that have happened in the manga since the
anime's completion. It begins with Gouryoumaru being revealed as Mouryoumaru,
all the way up until the Meioujuu and the introduction of Byakuya. Kappei
Yamaguchi and Satsuki Yukino narrated (well, more like, read off tagphrases)
as the still manga panels were shown onscreen, with some special effects
for added drama, and music playing in the background.
There
was something very eerily nostalgic about seeing the manga (which of
course, we get to read every week), shown on screen with sound effects
and music. o_O
But what
really pulled my heartstrings (in every sense of the word...:P) was
when they made it to the "Wind"
chapter. It played with the music from Guren ("Sending of the Souls"
- the instrumental version of Asagi's lullabye) in the background, and
Kappei read off a heartbreaking. "Kagura... did she... did she
suffer?" And then that final panel showed, reading "Atashi
wa kaze da. Jiyuu na kaze da." And I just sat there, thinking,
"They HAVE to make this into an anime someday. They just HAVE to!!"
Well,
we'll see what the next few months/years bring, right, folks? :D
Really
Random, but still...

Alrighty,
I got this email from a kind reader and figured I might as well post
my response here! ^_^
There's
an interviewer named Bernard Pibo, who invented a quiz which, in my
opinion, reveals everything about one's personality. I would like
to ask you to dedicate a few minutes of your time to answer these
questions. You can give any answer you feel is the right one. I hope
this won't be obvious, though... :)
1.
What is your favorite word?
"Kongou...!! SOU!! HA!!1" And it must be screamed in
that particular manner, as well. With proper dramatic pauses, rising
intensity and vocal inflection, and possibly the busting of audio equipment,
but y'know... it's all good.
2.
What is your least favorite word?
"Iron Reaver Soul Stealer."
3.
What sound or noise do you love?
Kappei Yamaguchi's oh-so-droolworthy voice.
4.
What sound or noise do you hate?
The horribly butchered sound of someone screaming "Iron Reaver
Soul Stealer."
5.
What turns you on?
Silver hair, gold eyes, red kimono, and puppy ears. Can't forget the
puppy ears. Or the awesome voice.
6.
What turns you off?
See #4.
7.
What is your favorite curseword?
"Hellyeah."
8.
What profession, other than your own would you like to try?
Voice acting.
9.
What profession you would definitly NOT like to try?
Anything that involves dressing up in a big feathery chicken suit and
standing around in a street full of crowded people, handing out signs
for the latest special of the day... which turns out to be a beef dish.
Why the chickens, man? Why the chickens?
10.
Assuming that Heaven exists, what would you like to hear from God when
you get there?
That either Roy will be alright (if I get there first), or that
Roy is waiting for me (if he got there before I did). That's all I'd
want to hear. That and if God would finally explain the platypus to
me.
I'm
Embracing the Wild Side!

Wow, despite
July actually being quite eventful, I just didn't have much time to
update the Tweak-Speak section very much. Hehe. Time to remedy!
So this
week is Comiket... surpisingly there were more doujinshi circles doing
still publishing Inuyasha that I expected. It'll be great seeing more
fans of the series there. Can't wait!!
The Summer
Inuyasha Campaign of 2005 continues on for another month and so many
days! So there's still a few more things in store for the summer!! In
the past two weeks, there's been two Inuyasha-related things released
that I've been very much looking forward to!!
First
of all, the DVD for the series finale just came out. The cover. OOOOH
MAN, THE COVER! BEHOLD!!1 The boy in his ever-so-shmexxy striped getup!
Heehee. I was more giddy than should be humanly allowed when I found
out what the cover was going to look like. Even more so when I had the
thing in my hot little hands.

So now,
with that, my entire Inuyasha DVD collection is complete. :D
And...
THE CHARACTER SINGLE CDs!! Oh MAN! Man, man, man! I can't even put into
words how happy I felt on the train home as I first listened to Inuyasha
and Kagome's "Aoki Yasei
o Daite." It was all I could do to not actually get up
and start dancing right then and there! Hehe.
That's
right... Inuyasha SINGS. I've heard many a Kappei Yamaguchi song in
the past (naturally), but this was the first time hearing him sing as
Inuyasha. So in the song, he sounds a lot like himself, but the lyrics...
oh man. You've had the chance to see the lyrics, right? Absolute and
utter giddiness permeated my inner InuKago fangirl. Hence the new sketches!!
...that
song is far too catchy for its own good!! *LOL*
And for
those who've already asked, sorry, I won't be hosting the songs themselves
on Ear-Tweak. But I will be trying to finish up those translations.
And there are also samples
of the songs up on Avex Mode's website, for those who are curious.
It was
great hearing them in action again. I guess that's what I always think
of whenever I see something new coming from the Inuyasha franchise...
*LOL* It's just great knowing that there's still feelings for the series
alive and well!
As Inuyasha
says:
Saa! Everyone, there's lots more!
I'm doin' great, and we'll see you later!
